A Red Aluminum Lunchbox That Carries More Than Lunch

A Red Aluminum Lunchbox That Carries More Than Lunch - The Miners Lunchbox

This year, L. May was proud to partner with Weir in delivering a meaningful employee recognition experience, one that goes beyond awards or plaques. We were asked to create a bold, custom version of our iconic aluminum lunchbox. The result: a striking red edition that symbolizes legacy, resilience, and pride.

The recognition initiative, rolled out across Weir locations in Sudbury, Timmins, and Lively, honoured employees who have dedicated over 20 years of service to the company. Each recipient received a personalized, Canadian-made aluminum lunchbox, a durable, everyday item turned powerful symbol of appreciation.

Among the honourees was Jason Hall, who marked his 25th work anniversary.

“It was just yesterday that I was hired as a labourer, painter and sandblaster,” he shared. “Now, being part of Weir feels like a new adventure.”

Also recognized were Dave Kingsley, Dan Leduc, Pierre Levesque, and Joey Warren, each of whom received a red custom lunchbox built in Sudbury. It’s a product deeply tied to Canadian mining history and hardworking communities, now used to celebrate milestones that matter.

At L. May, we’ve been building our aluminum lunchboxes since 1956, products designed to last through decades of real-life use. What started underground in Sudbury’s mines has grown into a symbol of craftsmanship and utility across industries. When companies like Weir choose our products to honour their teams, we’re reminded why we continue to do what we do.

These aren’t just lunchboxes. They carry purpose, and stories.

They’re built to last. They’re made in Canada. They’re more than a lunchbox. They’re a lifestyle.
